While waiting for hot water from the tap, catch the flow in a watering bucket/can and water your house plants with it
Keep a bottle of tap water in the fridge instead of running the faucet for cold water
Wash fruits and vegetables in a basin and use a vegetable brush to remove dirt
Run your dishwasher and washing machine only when full
Only water your lawn when it needs it. Walk across your grass, if your grass springs back up, it's not thirsty :)
Avoid watering on windy days or during hot mid-day hours...50% of the water used evaporates under these conditions
Equip your swimming pool, fountains and ponds with a re-circulating pump

CFLs use significantly less energy than traditional light bulbs (75% less).
If every home in America replaced just one incandescent light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified CFL, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes and prevent greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to that of 800,000 cars.
Although CFLs contain a small amount of mercury that could ultimately end up in the environment, that amount is significantly less than the amount of mercury avoided as a result of the energy savings...For more go to www.energystar.gov
Landlor Tenant Act: Implemented in 1954 Landlord Tenant Act illustrates the rights of the renter and the house owner. Categorized into two broad sub divisions, Residential Landlord Tenant Act and Mobile Landlord Tenant Act, the act doesn't make room for all property owners though.
Tenant Responsibilities
Be punctual about paying rent and other payments as agreed.
Strictly follow and fulfill the needs of city, county or state regulations.
Maintain health and hygiene in the dwelling place.
Get rid of garbage from the rental unit.
Bear the cost of sprays and the likes needed for killing pests.
Handle and operate plumbing, electrical and heating tools with care.
Make sure not to mutilate the occupied place in any way.
Make sure while leaving that the physical condition of the unit is the same as it was when entering.
Landlord Tenant Act also restricts the property owner from avoiding certain basic responsibilities while renting the place:
Landlord Responsibilites
Make the property habitable with proper fittings and gadgets.
Ensure proper locking systems.
Make arrangements for uninterrupted supply of water, electricity and heat.
Provide garbage disposal ways.
Make the rental unit free of pest infection, before the occupants move in.
Provide fully operational smoke detector.

The property owner is free to visit his property anytime during the stay of the tenants, according to the Landlord Tenant Act. However, in the best interest of both the parties, a minimum notice period of 48 hours is required in such a case from the property owner's end.
